Darnell Smith

Emcee

Darnell Smith is Florida Blue’s market president for the North Florida Region. Smith is responsible for Florida Blue’s business market growth, as well as customer and community engagement across 36 North Florida counties covering cities from St. Augustine to Pensacola.

Throughout his career, Smith has been very active in serving the community through numerous organization boards and councils.  Darnell was elected as 2017 Chair of the JAX Chamber Board of Directors. Additionally, Smith has served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Blue Foundation, Florida Blue’s philanthropic affiliate Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Florida State University. He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, the Advanced HR Executive Program at University of Michigan and is an active member of Leadership Jacksonville and Leadership Florida.

Christopher MacLellan

Keynote Speaker

Christopher MacLellan is affectionately known as “The Bow Tie Guy” in many caregiving circles and is an ardent advocate for caregivers and their caree’s, through his Caregiving blog, The Purple Jacket and his weekly radio show, ‘Healing Ties.’ Chris and his deceased partner, Richard Schiffer was chronicled in a 2015 Pulitzer Prize nominated story “In Sickness and In Health: A Couple’s Final Journey” about their journey of caregiving.  The story told of the challenges that LGBT partners have in dealing with the medical and legal system, but it also told of the love and joy that Richard’s last years had on their relationship.   Chris earned a Masters Degree in Leadership and Communication from Gonzaga University in 2016 and is a Certified Caregiving Consultant and a Certified Caregiving Educator. presents regularly on a variety of topics on healthy aging, LGBT caregiving, and life after caregiving ends.

Clay Meux

Clay Meux is an attorney at Rogers Towers, P.A. His practice focuses on representing clients throughout Florida in estate planning, wills and trusts, elder law, probate litigation and administration, guardianship litigation and administration, and real estate and commercial matters. Mr. Meux works with the LGBT population in response to the need for Advance Care Directives and Estate Planning. A native of Jacksonville, Mr. Meux earned his J.D. from Stetson University and his B.A. from Jacksonville University. Mr. Meux was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1994.

Evin Willman

Evin Willman is a seasoned development, strategic marketing, and public relations professional.  After running her own consulting company, Willman Consulting, for 10 years, Evin has been working with nonprofit organizations and socially conscious corporate clients who want to become more strategic about their philanthropic give. LGBTQ issues have long been a passion for Evin. She has worked for 10 years with JASMYN and has been part of the leadership team for the Jacksonville Coalition for Equality. Evin and her wife of 25 years, reside in Jacksonville beach. They have one daughter, Rebecca, who lives in Asheville, NC with her wife.

Toula Wootan

Toula Wootan is a trusted spokesperson dedicated to the mission of “caring for the caregiver.” Toula is the founder of the Caregiver Coalition of Northeast Florida, a partnership of organizations from the private, public, and non-profit sectors, working together to positively impact the quality of life for caregivers. Toula hosts a weekly radio show, “Toula’s Tips for Caregivers: HELP IS ON THE AIRand she is the author of “Love Stories And Timeless Tips.”
